How do I set up warning messages to make sure I'm scanning the right tickets?

Warning messages can be enabled for scenarios like ‘last entry’ cut-offs, or if you want to exclude certain ticket types from being scanned.

For example

  • If a ticket type allows entry before 10pm, you can set up a warning message to appear when this ticket type is scanned after that time.

  • If you're at the VIP Entrance and only want to scan VIP tickets, you can set up a warning message to appear if any other ticket type is scanned.

You can then choose whether to admit the attendee, or take other actions (e.g. denying entry, or requiring the customer to purchase an upgrade).

To set up these warnings:

  1. Select which tickets you want to scan from the dropdown at the top of the Entry Manager interface.

  2. Go to Settings → Warnings.

  3. Select the relevant warning messages

  • Early entry warning’ – receive a warning when an attendee arrives early

  • Late entry warning’ – receive a warning when an attendee arrives late (you can add a delay to this warning as a buffer – don't show for 15 minutes after the last entry time for the ticket)

  • Ticket type warning’ – receive a warning when scanning a ticket type different from the one(s) selected

And if you are using our timed entry ticketing to offer multiple time slots for entry

  • Time slot warning’ – receive a warning when scanning a ticket for a deselected time slot

All of these help to ensure you're admitting the right guests, with the right tickets, at the right time.
